Neville Boxe, the convenor of the Association of FINSAC'd Entrepreneurs has died.
Mr. Boxe who is credited for spearheading the calls for a Commission of Enquiry into the establishment and operations of the Financial Services Adjustment Company (FINSAC), died late last week.
The group accused FINSAC of selling the assets of business operators who were in debt, for a fraction of their value.
The National Democratic Movement (NDM) has hailed Mr. Boxe as an unsung hero, who took on the challenging task of seeking justice for aggrieved business men and women.
In paying tribute to Mr. Boxe, the NDM also accused the present Government of losing interest in pursuing justice on the issue and giving lip service to its promise of a Commission of Enquiry into the operations of FINSAC.
During his budget presentation on May 6, Finance Minister Audley Shaw announced that the three man Commission led by retired judge Justice Boyd Carey would start hearings in July.
A Secretariat was established on May 26 to oversee the affairs of the Enquiry however, it has yet to get underway.
Last year, Prime Minister Bruce Golding announced plans to set up the Enquiry following complaints from borrowers about the harsh treatment meted out to them.
